Jacklyn William

Reared in Fall River, MA, Jacklyn William attended both BCC and UmassD’s art programs, concentrating in Illustration and Photography. She was diverted from art for the next 20 yrs. in order to concentrate on raising a family. Creativity sprouted up throughout those years in the form of decorative crafts, culinary arts, and landscape design. The creative artist within fermented in the lessons learned in art school, as well as the culmination of years of looking at life through an artist’s eye. Upon returning to art and re-discovering acrylic painting, she found that much like riding a bike after years away, you never forget how, moreover it was like riding with a precision never before realized! Brushstrokes were impassioned, colors were vivid, spatial aspects were mastered, and compositions were dynamic.

Jacklyn is drawn to strong shadows and patterns. She likes to set the stage for the viewer to create his own narrative for a painting, thus each viewer will have his own interpretation of the work, much like a song with obscure lyrics can evoke a different meaning to each person who hears it. Her work always evokes happiness! Her medium of choice is Interactive acrylics, and she also works in watercolor. Jacklyn accepts commissions for paintings and murals.

Jacklyn’s work has won many awards in the 3 years she has been painting, and has been accepted in juried shows throughout southeastern MA, and RI, including the Greater Fall River Art Association, Gallery X, Bierstadt Gallery, Tiverton Town Hall, Grimshaw-Gudewicz Gallery, Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Little Compton Community Center, and the Westport Art Group.

She teaches watercolor, acrylic painting, adult drawing, and digital photography at the Greater Fall River Art Association and the Fall River Council On Aging.
